Issue #422: A Travel Writing Secret for Success November 28, 2022 |
Greetings Fellow Travel Writers! . . . and WELCOME all new subscribers. Thanks for joining us.
What We're DoingIn May 2023 we’ll be holding our Travel Writing & Photography Retreat and our Marketing Master Class for Travel Writers in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We’re excited to be going on a scouting Fam Tour of Santa Fe from December 4-9 with the Santa Fe Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. The primary purpose of our trip is to find a suitable venue and host hotel for the workshops. Santa Fe will be an outstanding destination workshop! We'll also be touring Santa Fe's main tourist attractions because it punches well above its weight here. This beautiful city of 83,000 has great restaurants, fascinating history and museums, creative art galleries, enticing boutique shops, and other interesting attractions to keep travel journalists entertained for a solid week. We’ll tell you more about Santa Fe, the attractions and the hotel we found to host our workshops in an upcoming newsletter. Stay tuned! Featured PostA Travel Writing Secret for SuccessEvery week aspiring writers ask me to share my travel writing secret to success. They want to know the one key that has opened the door to my most notable writing achievements so they will know how to be successful. They ask . . . “How have you managed to get so many articles published in such a short time?” Aspiring travel writers reason that if they know the answers to these questions, they can simply emulate my actions and reap the accompanying perks and rewards. That’s logical - find out what makes someone tick, and then copy them. But those of you who’ve been around for a while know there is no single secret to achieving success in any field. Achieving success is due to a balanced
combination of factors and talents rather than being expert at just one thing.
There are a handful of common success traits.
